Definition
What is an AI lending platform?
An AI lending platform is software that uses language and vision models to automate the parts of lending that do not require human judgment. Document handling, borrower communication, financial spreading, and memo drafting. The credit decision stays with the lender. The platform compresses the operational burden.
How it works
01
Document intelligence
Capture reads any document the borrower sends. Bank statements, tax returns, IDs, audited financials. Output is structured signals with fraud verdicts.
02
Borrower intake
AI Credit Officer reaches borrowers on WhatsApp, chases missing documents, and completes the file. Drop-off goes down; completion rates go up.
03
Credit assessment
AI Underwriter spreads financials, reads the narrative, and drafts the credit memo. Calibrated to lender policy. Underwriter signs the decision.
Comparison
AI lending platform vs. point solutions.
| Aspect | Point solutions | Kita AI lending platform |
|---|---|---|
| Document parsing | OCR vendor, separate fraud vendor | Built into one layer with fraud signals |
| Borrower communication | Email, web form, manual chase | WhatsApp-first intake with auto-chase |
| Credit memo | Analyst writes from scratch | Drafted by AI Underwriter, signed by your team |
| Integration overhead | Multiple vendors, reconciliation in the LOS | One platform, one integration |
| Market coverage | U.S.-centric or single-country | PH, ID, MX, ZA, KE, NG, U.S. and growing |
| Decision authority | Mixed; some platforms auto-decision | Your underwriter. Always. |

Common questions
Does Kita replace our loan origination system?
No. Kita is the AI layer that sits inside your LOS. Your LOS still owns workflow state, decision rules, and servicing. Kita layers handle document intelligence, borrower intake, and credit assessment.
Which markets does Kita support?
Live with lenders in the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, and South Africa. Active deployments with CDFIs and SMB lenders in the United States. Document parsing is tuned per market.
How does Kita differ from U.S.-centric lending platforms?
Most AI lending platforms are built around FICO and U.S. document formats. Kita is calibrated for markets where borrowers lack traditional credit history and where document formats vary widely. It works in the U.S. too, but it was designed for harder problems.
Is the platform safe for regulated lenders?
Kita is in active engagement for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II audits. Engagement letters available on request. The credit decision stays with the human underwriter, which preserves the regulatory accountability lenders already operate under.
How long does it take to deploy?
Document parsing typically goes live within two weeks. WhatsApp intake flows take four to six weeks. Full credit memo calibration takes four to eight weeks of iteration with the underwriting team.
Can we start with one layer?
Yes. Many lenders start with Capture for document parsing, then add the AI Underwriter, then the AI Credit Officer. Each layer works standalone and composes with the others when added.
One AI lending platform. Built for the lenders that matter.
